Dr. David Maisson is the CEO and founder of Argo. 

David is a data scientist and cognitive neuroscientist with a passion for understanding decision-making and complex behaviors.

He studied at California State University, Northridge, where he earned a BA in psychology, with minors in political science and history. After graduation, he took a job as a business analyst at UBS investment bank, where he worked on developing an electronic trading platform. One of the most important aspects of the job was being able to effectively communicate between data engineers/developers and the client-facing business desk.

David continued to offer consulting services on various data science programs, including using large population-level data to understand the determinants of the academic achievement gap at universities. Eventually, he decided to pursue academic research and joined NYU as a consultant for the research directors on how to leverage archived data to generate new insights and acquire new grant revenue.

To further his expertise, David enrolled in a master's program in science at the University of Delaware, where he worked on using advanced computational approaches to understand decision-making. He then went on to obtain a PhD at the University of Minnesota, where his research focused on generating insights into decision-making and other complex behaviors.

Throughout his career, Dr. Maisson has been fortunate enough to work on a wide variety of projects, ranging from consulting with businesses on data science programs to conducting academic research. These varied experiences have allowed him to compile a unique collection of expertise, including behavior, cognition, advanced analytics, cutting-edge statistics, and data generation. While most data scientists have experience working with inherited data, Dr. Maisson has a deep understanding of the human factors that go into generating the data and, with it, an understanding of the real-world contexts that can lead to actionable insights.

After completing his doctorate, David turned down several prestigious academic-track opportunities to take a position at a global leader in Life Sciences Consulting: ZS Associates. There, he used data science and advanced analytics to power strategic business consulting for organizations of all sizes, ranging from emerging to large pharmaceuticals and MedTech. He contributed to organizational restructuring, sales and commercialization strategies, position papers on applied data science, marketing, and human resource management. He is dedicated to helping organizations and individuals make meaningful and measurable impacts.

David is deeply passionate about using data to inform decisions and shape futures.
